On behalf of the Hager Sharp Board of Directors, I am proud to announce that Jennifer Wayman, MHS, one of the country’s most sought-after social marketing experts and leaders, has accepted our offer to become President and Chief Executive Officer. She will begin September 8, 2015.
Hager Sharp’s Board set out to find a leader who has three critical attributes: a commitment to using communications to make a difference in the world, strong skills and the experience to lead and manage a dynamic, fast-growing communications firm and an innovative, entrepreneurial spirit. Though our search resulted in an impressive pool of candidates, Jennifer quickly rose to the top.
In Jennifer we found all three attributes. She not only shares Hager Sharp’s mission-driven commitment, but she also has extensive and proven experience leading campaigns that result in pervasive social change. She is widely recognized as an effective business leader, managing all business and organizational aspects of a national social change practice with federal government agencies, Fortune 100 companies, and leading nonprofit organizations as clients. And, we were immediately drawn to her creativity and entrepreneurial spirit, an essential element to leading this company forward.
Jennifer told us she has long admired Hager Sharp, especially our mission-driven culture and our reputation for smart, creative employees. In accepting the position, she told the Board that she is excited about applying her leadership skills to further develop the company’s approach to integrated communications in Hager Sharp’s three areas of focus: health and wellness, education/workforce, and community transformation.
Jennifer is a respected thought leader in our field, serving on the editorial board of Social Marketing Quarterly, as a founding and current board member of the International Social Marketing Association, and as a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council of Lehigh University’s College of Business and Economics.
As we look toward the future, we are delighted to bring Jennifer in to lead Hager Sharp and are confident that our team, our clients, and our partners will benefit.
