Today, Hager Sharp announced the appointment of Christina Mazzola Nicols, M.P.H., M.S., M.S., as senior vice president to lead its strategic planning and research practice. With expertise in qualitative and quantitative research, audience insights, segmentation, and program measurement and evaluation, Nicols brings more than 25 years of communications and marketing experience to Hager Sharp.
“Christina is an industry leader in communication research and social marketing,” said Lynne Doner Lotenberg, Hager Sharp’s interim CEO. “We’re thrilled to have her on board to further expand our strategic planning, research, and evaluation offerings for our clients.”
For the past 14 years, she has been with the Washington, DC office of Ketchum, where she was director of research and a senior vice president in the social marketing practice. Nicols was recently honored as the lead on the 2013 PRWeek Public Sector Campaign of the Year on behalf of Ketchum and the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology. She is also an adjunct faculty member at The George Washington University School of Public Health, where she teaches graduate-level courses on market research and media advocacy for public health.
To further the fields of both social marketing and public relations, Nicols has contributed chapters to several texts, including Social Marketing Research, to be published by Oxford University Press this year, and Health Industry Communication: New Media, New Methods, New Message, published by Jones & Bartlett in 2011. For this title, Nicols served as co-author and co-editor.
