Hager Sharp has earned the top prize in PR Daily’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) category of “Best Stakeholder/Employee Engagement” for its commitment to giving back to its clients, employees, and local communities. Ragan Communications and PR Daily believe in recognizing organizations like Hager Sharp for going above and beyond corporate goals to do creative public service.
“While it is always an honor to win an award, this one is special because it recognizes us for living our core values,” said Hager Sharp’s interim CEO Lynne Doner Lotenberg. “Hager Sharp’s mission has always been to make a difference in people’s lives.”
The firm celebrated its 40th birthday in 2013 with its “40 Ways to Make a Difference” campaign, which created new ways for employees and stakeholders to give back to the community. Four months into launching the campaign, employees had already logged more than 40 activities and 500 volunteer hours. Along with community service, the campaign included a digital tip series promoting a healthier lifestyle, a staff challenge to encourage employees to improve their own health and safety, and a fitness boot camp.
