Cedric Brown

Cedric F. Brown, MS, APR

A Detroit native born in Italy to Navy parents, Cedric counts an op-ed, a white paper, and several blogs among his published works. He’s occasionally dabbled in improv acting since he was two months old, starring in roles from Baby Jesus to impersonating recording artist DMX. Mixed with his interests in sports, music and 90s nostalgia, Cedric aspires to be a multi-faceted storyteller.
Once a starry-eyed freelance consultant in his hometown, Cedric now tells stories for his day job. He is currently an account executive on the Education Team at Hager Sharp, serving as the social media and website storyteller for the U.S. Department of Education’s National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP). Joining forces with a squad of task leads in NAEP’s other efforts, Cedric conceptualizes content to be published on NAEP’s social media channels, while monitoring the education landscape for the latest news and events to engage with. Cedric also brags about the success of NAEP’s content with metrics from digital analytics.

Cedric completed his Master of Science degree in public relations from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in marketing and management from Northwood University.

A social media storyteller, Cedric thinks of himself as a decent improv actor, sports fan, and 90s nostalgic, while analyzing music lyrics and aspiring to have a CD collection like his parents.
