Trish Taylor, PhD

Specializing in behavior change communications, Trish brings more than 20 years of experience working across government, nonprofit, and private sector clients, developing and implementing national public health awareness and behavior change campaigns.
Her clients range from government agencies such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), National Institutes of Health (NIH), and The White House’s Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), to a range of private sector clients and nonprofits. She has led the design, development, and implementation of a variety of fully integrated, multifaceted national public awareness and education initiatives. An academic researcher by training, Trish’s specialty lies in applying behavioral science and theory to communications challenges to ensure the campaigns will be impactful and drive the desired behavior change. She has designed and implemented complex exploratory research efforts to inform the strategic development of many of these efforts, as well as the evaluation plans against which the campaigns are ultimately measured.
Her work has included topics ranging from childhood and adult obesity prevention, cancer screening promotion, hunger prevention, pediatric palliative care, teen dating violence and drug prevention, and the prevention of neurological disorders and stroke.
She is an experienced facilitator, helping bring clients to consensus around messaging, strategy, and communications architecture. She has been published in a variety of peer-reviewed journals, and she has presented her research and communications work at national and international conferences. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Connecticut and a Ph.D. in social health psychology from the State University of New York at Stonybrook. She resides in North Potomac with her husband and three children.
As a PhD with background as an account planner and a fitness instructor, Trish is well versed in all aspects of successful public health communications. As the mother of three below the age of 7, she’s also an expert in multi-tasking her way out of chaos.
